one week tomorrow (saturday)
Hey everyone,
Tomorrow will be one week on Lexapro, I’m doing fairly well. The
worries about jumping from C to L are gone. In my case, nothing
to worry about, not the big lull I thought there would be. The only
thing I’ve really noticed is some nausea, took a couple times for
me to realize where it was coming from - new med. This also
happened when I started taking Celexa and it did go away, so I
expect this will to.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I have plans to do my
favorite thing for almost the entire weekend. Scrapbook.

Just wondering if anyone has had strange dreams since starting Lexapro? I
have dreams with predominantly strange-looking animals in them or
strange-looking people in them. Can anyone relate?
Thanks.

Hi Christie, I am still on Celexa. But I do still have strange dreams
on it. Last week I had a dream that my whole family had been
murdered. I saw the pictures someone had taken. The dream was very
upsetting. So I imagine these type of meds. can make our dreams more
intense. Probably the serotonin working at nite?????

p.s. any reports how you feel different in general on Lexapro than
Celexa?
Also I think I recall you had OCD…does it seem to help this better
than Celexa? How much Celexa were you on compared to Lexapro…
Oh I hope this is the same Christie I know, if not sorry for the mix-
up and wrong questions….

Hi Dagmar,
Yes, it’s the same Christie. It seems to be working now. By that, I’ve
had a hectic life lately, and have been able to manage it. Moving next
week, been packing and all that entails. Also have had commitments with
different groups I belong to, and I seem to be keeping it all together! So
it seems like the Lexapro is working much sooner than the Celexa ever did!
As for sleeping and bad dreams, I took Gina’s advice and stopped taking the
additional Celexa beginning Saturday morning. I slept very well last
night, and can’t remember any of my dreams, woke rested. I’m sorry to hear
about your dream about your family — that must have been upsetting, even
as just a dream!
I also think my thinking on Lexapro is sharper “on my feet” so to speak. I
seem to be more in the present, rather than thinking over whatever I just
said or did to see if I made any mistakes — one symptom of my OCD that
seems to be abated for now.
I’m happy I made the switch, and can’t wait to see what the coming weeks
bring. Like Celexa, Lexapro is very subtle though, nothing real dramatic.
Take care,
Christie

Thanks Christie. I think your report on your switch to Lexapro is
very positive. I heard from my pharmacist that it seems to work
faster on people than Celexa. She still told me it is such an
individual thing how these AD’s work. So I am reading and watching
how you all do.
