All about Lexapro

When I started C It was increased gradually,but I don’t think I am
going to need any higher than 10mg of Lexapro,so I guess that’s the
intended dose .
10mg of L is equal to about 40mg of C and thats how much C I was
taking .
From what I have found out , C to L is the only switch in SSRI’s that
does not need to be done gradually.That’s because it is basically the
same drug,just refined,so it is stronger and not so much needed .
(they say it alot more technically)eg. removing isomers etc.

My husband has an insurance plan through work that pays 100% of the
price of the drug .I pay $2.00 per prescription, but that is
the “dispencing fee”.It doesn’t matter if the prescription is for 10
pills or 100.I would recommend insurance bigtime! especially if you
are taking several meds.

Just curious…what is the Lexapro costing?

He put me on 10mg Lexapro and I was on 40 mg Celexa .He said I could
just stop the Celexa and start the Lexapro .
I’m still taking the tryptophan as well .Each pill is one gram and I
take one and a half at bedtime .
I slept really well last night , no problem with dreams so far ,but
it’s still early.
Today I’ve had lots of energy,but also patience.Quite often I’ll have
4 things on the go at the same time.
For example I’ll start the laundry but end up not folding the clothes
or putting them away because i’m onto something else.
I noticed today I do have energy but not problem finishing what I’m
doing ,like I’m not in a rush .
It seems i’ve accomplished more cause a few things actually got
finished lol.
Can anyone relate to that ?

Probably too early to tell much, but I did seem fine yesterday.Slept
really well also. So far so good .

Hi, I have ocd. Thoughts race through my head faster and faster, and
I want to scream cause I can’t make them stop. I was on 40 of c. My
pdoc moved me to 20 of lexapro. It took a week till the ocd was
manegeable, and 10 days till it is really put in its place. I have
energy today, and have for a week . I think I needed the higher dose
to control the ocd, but not to get sides, and lexapro lets me go to a
higher dose with out the sides. Karen

Steeve my Dr.prescribed the tryptophan .It does help with sleeping
and side effects .He said it makes the Celexa work better .
It is an amino Acid .I take it in pill form .Each pill is one gram
and I take one and a half every night .I was wondering if I continue
it ,if it may help with the dreams people are talking about .I think
I will keep taking it since I have it and see what the dreams are
like .

Hi all,
Just joined this group today as I want to find out more about Lexapro
so I am hoping those of you on the drug can help. My doctor wants me
to take an AD for severe depression and anxiety, but I do not want to
take one due to side effects. My biggest concern is weight gain and
sexual side effects. Since Lexapro is so new to the US market there
is not much information about how people react to the drug. If any
of you can share your experiences with this new drug I would
appreciate it. I don’t want to take Effexor or Celexa which are her
top choices so perhaps this Lexapro might be the answer. Please help
if you can.

Am starting at 10 mg.I am going to be going to the island maybe
tomorrow but I will keep a daily log.The doctor said I may not need
the tryptophan with Lexapro but to see how I’m sleeping.
