I remember you from the Celexa group . Glad to see you here! Are you
still walking on the beach with your dogs? Hope so! I fondly remember
that . -Steeve :-)

PM switch helped

Friday, March 21st, 2003

I made the switch. I took my pill at night yesterday for the first time, and
slept through the night with just one 4 a.m. awakening. That’s a great
improvement over the prior several nights. I also noticed that when I first
lay down I could lie still instead of twitching and tossing.
Progress there. Dreams remain problematical (car crashes, anxiety
situations, vividness).

So many post to read and questions to ask

Was wondering if anybody with OCD has tried Lexapro and how they
where doing? I use to take 60 mgs of Celexa but got tried of being
a “Zombie.” Life has been busy so I haven’t ben posting much in
either chat groups, have been reading when I get time. I will soon
disappear into the televison as I try to watch as many Detroit games
as I can. Hell maybe I will go see them again, I think I can a crowd
that size. I can always scream and people will think I am enjoying
the game. Tom

Day One of L

Thursday, March 20th, 2003

This is my first day on L. I have not noticed any difference taking
this from C except for a little dry mouth! My main reason for
switching was the sexual side effects though it didn’t bother me as
much as it did my husband!!! I told him that he could be not having
sex with me while I was happy or he could be not having sex with me
because I was cranky all the time!! Ha ha.
The jaw clenching/teeth grinding seems to be a problem for many of
you. I had the jaw clenching when I first went on C, but it went
away after a few months. It WAS a very weird feeling.

update

Tuesday, March 18th, 2003

I really don’t like keeping close tabs on how I feel. But being on this list
is causing/helping with that, cuz my transition to Lexapro hasn’t been all
that smooth.
To recap: was on 40 mg Celexa for 3 1/2 years; Prozac before that. Switched
to 20 mg Lexapro on Sept. 10. Then to 10 mg Lexapro on Sept. 20. Have been
taking in the morning. Have been drowsy during day; had nausea; wired the
minute I hit the bed at night. Yesterday I felt crabby, too, but that may
have been due to the constantly interrupted sleep the night before.
SO. Today I did not take the morning pill of Lexapro. Sleep was still
interrupted (and dreams were vivid and on the anxious/disturbing side), but
so far I DO feel better, as in, pretty good mood and more energy. Had my
first yawn of the day at about 3:00 p.m. Not bad.
I’ll take the pill tonight and see how that goes with the sleeping.
Also. The clenching seems a bit better today since I’m taking my
multivitamins regularly.
Nausea is minimal.
A thought: does anyone else besides me who clenches wear glasses that don’t
stay up? I wonder if I clench just to keep the dang things on my face
without constantly propping them up with a hand. What do you think?

One of life’s little lessons
An old Cherokee was teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is
going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and
it is
between two wolves. One is Evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret,
greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies,
false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good - he is joy,
peace,
love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy,
generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on
inside
you, and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his
grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The grandfather replied simply, “The one you feed.”
Worth pondering,
Hugs
