Forgot they were releasing this!!!

Wednesday, April 30th, 2003

Hi everyone,
I totally forgot that Lexapro was coming out!!! I have been on
Celexa since mid March and am interested in switching. Hopefully
some of you could let me know if you’ve notice any of the following
changes since switching from Celexa to Lexapro:
1) Do you experience a Celexa-like “crash”
2) Any improvement in motivation? I feel better on Celexa but
unmotivated… I’m late for work a lot
3) Weight gain?
4) Any symptoms that the Celexa *did* address, that the Lexapro
*does not*?
5) Would you switch back to Celexa?
If anyone has a sec and could give me their input I’d be so
grateful. I want to get in to see my doc as soon as possible to
make the switch,I can’t wait!

Head Pain Advice?

Tuesday, April 29th, 2003

OK day 3 is winding down for me, but around 5-7PM I was suffering a
lot of pain behind my eyes with a severe haedache. Has anyone else
had this issue I took some Tylenol and it went away, but now I am
extremely scared. I had this issue with the Prozac that wouldn’t go
away after two to three weeks. I really want to stay on Lexapro
because this stuff is working great but the pain earlier was
unbearable. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and praying that this is
only a phase and it will pass within the next few days. It seems to
do this after the med starts to wear off. Any insight would be
great. I know nobady is a doctor here, but as far as I’m concerned
were all in this together…
Thanks In Advance,
Anthony

to switch or not to swich

Monday, April 28th, 2003

I have been on Celexa for a year and three months….on 15 mgs…and
for the past 3 months on 10mg….I take it for anxiety and panic
attacks…not depression….
it took me three months to tolerate Celexa…I thought I was dying,
the sides were so bad but through sheer determination and support
from the celexa group and a friend I met there, I managed to
tolerate it….I am extremely sensitive to meds….now that I am
used to Celexa I am afraid to try anything else…but I have heard
that Lexapro does not cause you to be as tired as C…and allows you
to sleep better…
is there anyone out there that took C for anxiety and has now
switched to C and has had positive results?
Hi Jimmy!

any new yorkers here?

just anted to see

My memory is improving! : )

Thursday, April 24th, 2003

Have any of you who switched from Celexa to Lexapro noticed that your
memory is better and that you’re sharper mentallyn than before? I
don’t have that mental “vapor lock” as often as I did with Celexa –
you know, when you stop mid-sentence because you can’t come up the
word or person’s name that you’re searching for? With Lexapro, I
seem to have a faster and more efficient search engine up there.
This makes me very happy!

I cut my dose to 5 mg last night and i’m not sure about this
Lexapro… i have dizziness (which i had with Celexa) and i had a
“falling” feeling breifly while stopped at a red light in the car.
It’s only been 3 days, but i think i felt better on Celexa(?) - Just
not sure.
Hope it gets better,
Faiv

I think I slept better last night.

re all day 14

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2003

Hi, today is day 14. The first few days, I had queasy stomach,
diahhrea, and headache. But it went away. Day 13 and 14 were the
first great days. No anxiety, and I had reason for alot, since I was
off from work for 2 weeks, and went back today. So yesterday should
have been a killer-anxiety wise, and I was fine, and quilted all
day. Today was good too. I had cut out my caffeine cause the lex.
was making me super energetic, and “almost” “manic”. But now I am
perfectly even. I hope it stays that way. I am calm, but have
energy. Still no short term memory, too bad. Karen

Lexapro…fantastic!

Monday, April 21st, 2003

Hi all…I was on the Celexa board, cancelled internet service to
save money while buying a house and now I’m back because we didn’t
realize how much we use it researching everyday things.
Anyway, on to the topic…I was on 30 mgs of Celexa for about 3.5
months and never felt quite “right” on it. Had a hard time getting
to the right dosage and finally settled on 30 mgs. It seemed to
take my Drs office forever to get ahold of my insurance company to
see if they’d reduce the cost for me on Celexa and they were
providing me with samples the whole time. Well, the beginning of
Sept. comes along, still no word from the ins. co. and I need
samples. Needless to say, Celexa stopped sampling out because of
the release of Lexapro and my Dr switched me over. When they handed
me 3 months worth of samples I just prayed that I’d be able to use
them.
I felt wonderful after a week. I’ve been on the Lexapro since Sept.
6. I’ve tolerated this med so well. I’m on 10mgs, had slight
nausea and headaches for a few days but that’s it. I am so glad
that I ran out of samples of Celexa or I may still be on it feeling
only half normal.
Has this med worked quickly for others? Did it work so quickly for
me because I already was on the Celexa? I’m so very happy this med
came out!
