to switch or not to swich

I have been on Celexa for a year and three months….on 15 mgs…and
for the past 3 months on 10mg….I take it for anxiety and panic
attacks…not depression….
it took me three months to tolerate Celexa…I thought I was dying,
the sides were so bad but through sheer determination and support
from the celexa group and a friend I met there, I managed to
tolerate it….I am extremely sensitive to meds….now that I am
used to Celexa I am afraid to try anything else…but I have heard
that Lexapro does not cause you to be as tired as C…and allows you
to sleep better…
is there anyone out there that took C for anxiety and has now
switched to C and has had positive results?

I take Lexapro for anxiety/panic disorder. I’m feeling wonderful on
it. I was never feeling quite normal on the Celexa. It took me
awhile to get to a good dosage for me and ended up at 30mgs.
As for the side effects and effectivness of Lexapro, my doc
explained it to me as 10 mgs of Lexapro is as effective as 40 mgs of
Celexa, while side effects are equal mg-mg.
As far as sleeping…I’ve been sleeping at night so well, it’s
    wonderful!
    Good Luck!

    — In Lexapro@y…, “Shells” Could you explain what you mean in the last part of your post?
    What does “mg-mg” mean?
Didn’t get this part. And am curious what it might mean.

Sorry Dag, that didn’t make alot of sense I guess LOL.
Ok…10mgs of Lex is = to 40mgs Cel as far as effectiveness.
Side effects are mg for mg, meaning side effects that you have at
10mgs Cel are the same side effects you would have at 10mgs of Lex.
So while 10mgs of Lex works as well as 40mgs Cel, you aren’t going
to suffer from the same side effects you would have at 40mgs Cel.
I hope that makes more sense LOL

I get it now. Thanks so much. I am still trying to gather information
to make a good decision, if I switch. That is very hopeful info.
