Head Pain Advice?
OK day 3 is winding down for me, but around 5-7PM I was suffering a
lot of pain behind my eyes with a severe haedache. Has anyone else
had this issue I took some Tylenol and it went away, but now I am
extremely scared. I had this issue with the Prozac that wouldn’t go
away after two to three weeks. I really want to stay on Lexapro
because this stuff is working great but the pain earlier was
unbearable. I’m keeping my fingers crossed and praying that this is
only a phase and it will pass within the next few days. It seems to
do this after the med starts to wear off. Any insight would be
great. I know nobady is a doctor here, but as far as I’m concerned
were all in this together…
Thanks In Advance,

Anthony - Personally, I’ve never had a single headache on Lexapro.
However, if I were you, I wouldn’t spend five seconds worrying about
any pain that can be taken care of with a mild, over-the-counter
remedy like Tylenol. If you’re afraid that a headache might come on,
just take Tylenol every three and half hours all day, preventively,
until this initial side-effect phase passes.
I know you have a history of bad experiences with antidepressants.
If I can be honest, it seems to me that you’re obsessing about the
drug’s side effects and having a lot of anxiety it, and it’s really
your anxiety that’s the root cause of your problems. Pain and
anxiety really can’t be separated neatly. When you read about pain
management, the first thing they tell you is that anxiety, stress and
muscle tension make any type of pain feel much worse. Then you’re
caught in a vicious cycle of pain, anxiety, panic, pain, more
anxiety. If you can try to deal with the anxiety by doing some
relaxation exercises or something, and just try to trust that the
drug will basically be OK, you’ll be much better off.

–Prozac takes a long time to leave the body once you stop taking
it. Lexapro or celexa does not.
I find that Tylenol doesn;t really work for me. I like Bufferin
and Motrin. Karen
