All about Lexapro

My friend who started Lexapro last week is feeling some benefit.
She wonders if anyone has heard if they are in the process of making
a 5mg. Lexapro pill or is it available in U.S. right now?
She would like to have an easier time cutting it down and being
consistent in her level she is taking. She is at 2.5 mg…and having
trouble sleeping. Anyone else on this low and feeling sleep
problems….?

My last message was in regards to if they make a 5mg Lexapro pill at
this time. My friend is having a hard time getting a consistent
amount of her Lexapro cut. She is taking 2.5 mg…and also having
trouble sleeping. Anyone else a first timer at a AD like my friend?
I am supporting her in this trial, and want her to succeed.

Before I forget I am very grateful for having a group like this.
When a new med like Lexapro is out there and there is little
documentation about it, its nice to see people here talking about
what’s going on with them with this…

To all those that have made the switch I know its way too early but
what are your thought of how you feel with Lexapro as compared to
Celexa? I’m on day 2 and the nausea is not as bad as yesterday but
the dry mouth and disorientation are definiately there. I’m only on
5Mg. Actually this is pretty weird because when I was on 20 Mg of
Celexa I had an extreme case of vomiting and vowed never to touch
anything again. 15 Meds later (See my previous post “Sturggling with
meds”) and out of desperation I am taking the second generation of
Celexa. I’m hoping that I will be able to handle this because I feel
blown away.

on 5mg has been good i’m not jumping for joy but I havent had
a PA in a week so maybe I should !LOL. I have taken a couple Xanax
this week but thats no biggie. So on a scale of 1 to 10 id give
Lexapro a 7 . I am waking way too early not sure if thats a side
effect.I take my dose at 6 AM ish -Steve

Just started Lex - 10 mg, switched from 20 mg of Celexa. Tonight is
only night 2 and i feel pretty wowed-out. Does anyone know if 10 mg
Lex is equivelent to 40 mg Celexa? - then i may need to cut down to 5
mg Lex… i feel a weird nausea & strange, heavy head. I was really
hoping this would be better than Celexa & less sides. Gosh, i hope
so.
I had horrible sides from C for weeks, it didn’t eve really work for
anxiety till a full 6 months…
Any insights helpful.

Ok this is my first post. My name is Anthony, I’m really struggling
with my meds. I suffer with Panic Attacks, Severe Anxiety (GAD),
Social Anxiety, and mild depression. I’ve been on many meds
including: Celexa, Paxil, Prozac, Effexor, Neurontin, Pamelor,
Klonopin, Xanax, Lorazepam, Trazadone, Tofrinil, Remeron, and
Lexapro. These have been taken during a years time. Believe it or
not my worst case was with Celexa (my first drug) I was throwing up
all day and was bedridden. I am extremely sensitive to meds, but I
need something.
Believe it or not today was Day 1 for me with Lexapro, (yes I know
its basically Celexa) but my P Doc yesterday said that this is more
tolerable than Celexa. Well I took it this morning 5 Mg and I felt
nauseated not to the point that I would throw up, but an upset queezy
churning in the stomach. Plus I’ve been disoriented and struggling
thoughout the day. For those on this, how is your nausea? How about
other side effects, are they going away and for how long should I see
improvement? Its amazing, I never was like this until I broke down
with my anxiety last summer. I haven’t been the same since. I do
know that everything has side effects just like aspirin, but there
has to be some form of combination for me out there. I would love
any feedback and or help…

Hi All,
Just switched (today) from Celexa after a little more than a year…
it took 6 months for C to work for my anxiety. The sides were
horrible on C for weeks, but i hung in there. I really hope there are
less sides on Lexapro (tiredness, headaches and BAD short-term
memory) - those all lessened in time but never stopped.
Glad there’s a new Group for this though!
