You Guys Won’t Believe What I Did Today

Sunday, June 22nd, 2003

Well I have been on 5Mg Lex for over 2 weeks now. I been suffering
with a lot of nausea and increased anxiety to my already bothersome
panic attacks. Anywhoo I have an appt. with my P-Doc tommorrow and I
decided to try 10 Mg of Lex today just to see how I feel and if I got
worse, then he would have to tweak it. Well its been about an hour
since I took it and I would say the nausea for now is still the same
(the true test is to see how nauseated I feel after my first major
panic attack in public). Other than that, I feel very spaced out,
which is not good or bad just making a ton of mistakes. All of this
will have to be documented and brought to my doctor’s attention
tommorrow. I hope everyone else is doing Ok today, and I’ll write
l8r.

Much appreciated!

I just wanted to say thank you for your responses. Your insight is
much appreciated! I am looking forward to my appt on Monday to make
the switch.
I just wish that I could snap my fingers and be on the right dose of
the right med and taking it at the right time… :) The things we go
through to live life like a normal human!! I know that when I finally
get to that place, I’ll never take advantage of feeling good
again!! :) Thanks again!

One week

Saturday, June 21st, 2003

Well it’s been one week now on the Lex, 5mg. I have noticed I am
tired by the afternoon….a side I wanted so much to disappear.
Thought maybe it would go away over time but not so sure anymore. I
had enormous amounts of energy the first 2 days on the drug but it
changed in a hurry. Switched direct from Celexa 20 mg. so I’m not
sure yet if there is C still in my system or the Lex is just going
to be another one that makes me tired. On the good side, only
moderate “brain fog” in comparison to the Celexa. Some dizziness
here and there that I don’t care for and slight nausea for about an
hour or so after taking. Also can’t get to sleep as easy at night.
Maybe that has some affect on my afternoon sleepiness too. I’m just
hoping all will “level” out. I’m willing to give it the month to
see what happens and if no improvement..maybe back to the Celexa?
Let me know how you all are doing.

Hi and welcome.
I was on Celexa prior to Lexapro. I can’t be of much help regarding
the switch from Paxil, but from what I have learned, you would
probably have to ween off the Paxil gradually and onto the Lexapro.
It is good you are going to discuss this with your Doctor.
When I initially switched from Celexa to Lexapro,I had vivid dreams
which I remembered in detail. That lasted approximately one week.I
also lost more weight.(I lost weight when I started Celexa also)
Other than that It has been great!
Good luck and I hope you find the help you need here.

I’m Still Remaining Positive

Thursday, June 19th, 2003

How’s everybody doing today? As for me I’m still on 5 Mg of Lexapro,
but I still haven’t ruled out the possibility of moving up to 10Mg.
I see the P doc on Friday and my attitude is if I turn into a plant
before then, it will be up to him how to fix me.
I’m still suffering from the nausea and the extra anxiety (more
frequent panic attacks), but I’m trying to give this med the benefit
of the doubt. In the mean time I’ll just keep taking a little extra
Klonopin from a very samll .5 to .75 Mg a day to help a tad with the
anti-anxiety. Who knows, thats all I can do for now?
I hope everyone elseis doing fine, and to the new people that have
signed on, you are definiately welcome here. You’ll see that the
regulars here are very helpful and kind people.

Lexapro- decrease in side effects?

Wednesday, June 18th, 2003

Hi, I’m new here… I’ve been doing lots of research on Lexapro for
the last few days and I must say it looks promising! I’ve been on
Paxil for 4 months and while I LOVE the emotional effects…I can’t
take the physical side effects anymore. (fatigue/sedation, appetite
increase/weight gain, severe sexual side effects, etc.) I was
thinking of just adding Wellbutrin to the Paxil…but then started
reading about the Lexapro. I have an appt. on Monday to discuss this
with my doc.
Has anyone experienced the side effects listed above from other
medications and then noticed a POSITIVE change when you switched to
Lexapro?
Thanks so much for your help!

update and stuff

Sunday, June 15th, 2003

Steeve thank you for the email about my dog. That was very thoughtful
and thanks to all the others that gave support .
I am stil in Thunderbay.
I am still not experiencing any bad side effects .(was away from
husband for 6 months so had no idea if i had the, well
the …hmmm….i’m thinking here ……OK .I’ll call it
the “LetsJustGetThisOverWithSoICanSleep” side effect.
So really the only SE’s are the occasional dream that is to vivid
and remembered….and weight loss .The forgetfulness is also geting
better .

More Tired

Saturday, June 14th, 2003

I’m on 5 mg/day of Lexapro for a little over a week.
The sides are gone, but i am MORE tired on Lexapro than 20 mg Celexa.
It’s harder to fall asleep, but i sleep more on L. No real positive
difference for me really…

I wish something really worked on ocd

Friday, June 13th, 2003

I was on luvox but only 100 mgs out of 300 possible dse. I dont
thin lexapro works on ocd. I thi nk celxa worked better but only in
relation to sex stuff and thats becasue it lowers libido. So maybe
thats good for you guys bc lexapro seems to have less lowering
effect on libido, Anyway good luck and be well
