it is my first day on lexapro and i feel really strange. i feel wired
like i had too much coffee. does this go away? i woke up at 5 in the
morning after 3 hours of sleep. my eyes are peeled. i can’t seem to
close them much less blink. this is definetely not my average energy
level. just wondering if anyone else has had this experience. i am
taking 10 mg. my doc didn’t say anything about taking 5 or these side
effects.

Has anyone gotten high blood pressure
( hypertension ) from Lexapro or Celexa?
I have had a definite increase in my blood pressure from taking just 5
milligrams of Lexapro for just one week.
I used to be on 10 milligrams of Celexa for over 2 years.
My blood pressure increased from 120/80 all the way to 180/120 which is quite
severe!
I would like to know if anyone noticed any increase in their blood pressure or
hypertension from Lexapro or Celexa.

I’ve been on 10 mg of lexapro for 3 1/2 weeks. So far the lack of sides
have been great except for the almost daily afternoon nap I’m needing to
take. (Anyone needing to do this too?) Anyway, for 2 days a few days
ago my allergies were bothering me so bad that not even my daily dose of
Allegra was helping. Like some of you mentioned, my nose was itching and
I was sneezing a lot. I took my usual dose of L. in the morning and
evening. I was , as usual very tired in the afternoon, but I was very
agitated and grumpy and no, I’m not getting ready to start my period,
but I was grumpy with my kids and a witch to my husband. I felt like I
was not on any meds at all. Is this normal not have good days when
you’re on an ad? I couldn’t get over how angry and upset I was for these
2 days. Also, I wondered if my allergies we causing the L not to work?
Anyway, the last 3 days have been good. I switched my dose of 10 mg to
the afternoon around 4. I sleep very sound and I don’t think I’m as
tired. Anyone noticed that it seems this drug doesn’t work everyday.
Or, do I still need to wait out the 4-6 weeks for the full effect? Also,
what type of symptoms would I be having if I had ocd? I’m not clear
entirely what this is? Maybe I’m not taking the right drug. I’m just
taking this for irritability. I’m not anxious person either.

I started taking Lex yesterday aft around 6pm. Went into a stupor
almost immediately, and was groggy all evening. Woke up at 3am and
felt like I was on speed. Could not get back to sleep. Went out for a
walk early and starting getting the shakes.Was very shaky for about an
hour.Hands shaking and feeling very weak. Have felt very wierd since i
took this crap. I dont know if i can take another day of this. Is this
normal?
Id rather be depressed than feel like this.
Dr just gave me Lexaro for add anyone have any information on this I
was on a Prozac gerneric for a while now. The prozac made me very
tired gain wait. it is like I can never get enogh sleep I hated it
but when I am off it I am jummpy can’t stay still and can not sleep
I was on ritian and cylert and went off of it and if I sleeped for 4
hour a night that was alot this went on for 3 months and I thoght I
was going to have a nevus break down. any information would be great

I had a mild case of itching while on the Celexa that went away
fairly quick.
After two weeks of taking Lexapro I started to itch, big time.
Sometimes, I thought I would go crazy with it. I started taking an
antihistimine and that did help.
It’s probably been about five weeks now and the drive-me-crazy
itching has passed to a once in a while.
With luck, if your able to stick it out, the itching will pass.

For those of you with this side effect does antihistimines help? I
don’t think I would last long on a med that made me itchy either.
I’ve had a itchy spot on my chest for about the last 7 yrs, since I
was pregnant with my youngest, and there are days it just drives me
up a wall!! It isn’t dry and up until about a year ago, you
couldn’t tell there was anything wrong with the spot at all. But
it’s starting to turn dark, I’m sure from all the scratching. My
Doc gave me a script for a cortozone cream and it doesn’t work. I
guess it’s time for a trip to the dermatologist.
Anyway, I’m rambling…
My spouse has been taking lexapro for only about 2 1/2 weeks (10mg), after
trying Celexa (30mg) off and on for about 3 months. He has developed serious
itching on both products, and says it makes him feel more aggressive while on
these antidepressants.
He has OCD, and I was looking for some relief from his symptoms, but he is ready
to quit. Anyone have any suggestions?
