Newbie, switched from celexa to lexapro…
I have just switched (2 weeks ago) from celexa to lexapro. I
suffered terrible side effects on celexa, and honestly it didnt do
anything for my panic attacks/GAD/and depression. I was on celexa
for over a year, and decided I needed to change med’s. I went to my
doc, and she told me about Lex, and how it’s supposed to be the new
and impoved “c”. It’s supposed to be much stonger, with less side
effects. Well, I have to say that I am totally impressed! My panick
attacks have stopped, and my depression has lifted, and I have a ton
of energy and motivation again! Not to mention, that I have no side
effects except jaw clenching. My sex drive is great again, and I
feel so much better about myself. I am actually able to leave my
house again(after being home bound for 4 months b/c of panic
attacks/agoraphobia), and I am enjoying life.
I was just wondering if some of you fellow lexers could fill me in on
how lexapro has helped you. Thanks, and I look forward to posting
with all of you!

-Hi Brandy, after being on celexa for 18 months, and in my opinion,
never on a high enough dose, I am now on 20 mg of lex, and am finally
living spontaneously again, and not having to obsess over things
before I do them [ocd]. I laugh and joke again, before lex, I still
felt overwhelmed by things alot of the time, and now , I feel like I
am less and less overwhelmed by doing things such as grocery
shopping, going out with friends, etc. I think the overwhelmingness
was still a piece of depression that was untouched till lexapro. Lex
seems to clear everything up, and give me motivation and energy as
well. Karen

Hi Karen! Thanks for the reply! I am glad that others are benefiting as much from the lex as I am. It feels so good to feel good again!

Karen does your OCD affect your work? I ask because I find myself
trying to be perfect when I work doesn’t matter if it’s around the
house or the weekly pay check.

–Hi, My ocd causes me to be more of a straightener than perfect. I
need order, everything in its place. Yes, I do that at home and at
work. Karen

Sounds like you are getting everything under control.WTG girl! What
about swimming ? I think you can get memberships that are just for
pool privledges. Some hotels have them as well as the YMCA.
Swimming is great for burning calories and it also excersises about
every muscle .

I actually checked into that. The problem is that I have a 3 year old that I would have to bring with me, and I really wouldnt be able to get a lot of laps in if you know what I mean. I could bring him, and just kind of play around in the water with him, but I dont know if it would really give me a good workout-ya know? I’m gonna see if they have any swimming clases for kids his age, and if they do, I will swim while they teach him.

Brandy, some gyms also offer childcare services for free or a nominal fee. Suz
