nausea and Luvox ques..

Tuesday, September 30th, 2003

Boy Anthony, I hope it goes better today for you……..I give You
credit for hanging in there…with the rough side effects….
I’ve been pretty lucky on Lexapro. Though I still sufferfrom
stomach problems occasionally .Whether its related I don’t know..Mine
has been bothering me the last two days.I think maybe I could have an
ulcer.Its hard to say…..
Hi to the new members! Mary

Vivid dreams, etc

Tuesday, September 30th, 2003

Hi,
I’ve been on Lexapro 10 mg since the beginning of October and I
also have very vivid dreams and the jaw clenching. I also remember
the dreams when I wake up. Some are pretty scarey…but not as
scarey and vivid as when I take a Xanax close to bedtime…then they
remind me of the time I dropped acid back in the 60’s!! I only
sleep about four to five hours a night and them I’m tired all day.
I’m thinking about asking my doc if I can go up to 15 or 20 mg per
day. I feel a lot better but not 100%. The jaw clenching I can
pretty much control when I’m awake and notice that I am doing it.
Has anyone been on the Lexapro long enough to know if these side
effects go away? Do they get any worse with an increase in the
dosage? Thanks!
Jan :o)

Still sleepy after 6 days/Thanks S. & Brandy

Thank you S. and Brandy ~ I will go ahead and stick it out! I don’t seem quite as sleepy this morning (of course I slept all day yesterday and last night).

Thanks again for your support.

Does clenching go away?

Sunday, September 28th, 2003

I’ve been on Lex for a little over a week now. I started on 10mg the first week,
& am now up to 15mg, & may go up to 20mg. The only side effect is some mild jaw
clenchig. I conciously avoid clenching while I’m awake, but suspect I clench in
my sleep. This is no big deal as of now & isn’t painful, my jaw just feels a
little stiff. I’m just wondering if this is likely to go away with time. I
haven’t been on Lex long enough to notice a significant change in my
depression/anxiety, but I’m very happy that I’m not experiencing any serious
sides as this is my first time on an AD.

Im new here and I have a few quesitons

Saturday, September 27th, 2003

Hi everyone. Im new here. Im still on celexa and next month Im
probably going to switch over to lexapro. I have a few concerns.
Concern number one, I suffer from migraine headaches and the celexa
has improved them slightly. Any difference on Lexapro for those of
you who have migraines? Concern number two. I just lost 110 lbs and
I have gained 2 back on celexa because of fluid retention plus
something that people call empty stomach syndrome. My stomach feels
empty alot and its very uncomfortable. Are there people here who’s
weight has remained stable or do people tend to gain weight on this
drug. Thanks so much for the help. Susan

Vivid Dreams (Stopping Celexa)

Saturday, September 27th, 2003

I definitely have late REM onset on just 10 mg. of Celexa.
I also have vivid dreams and I do not like them. They are usually
nightmares.
I wish I did not remember my dreams.
Today my doctor told me to start discontinuing Celexa, but cutting
down 2.5 mg. every 3 weeks.
I am currently on 10 mg.
Any suggestions?

I don’t have it on Celexa, though it’s one side effect I would appreciate, as I start REM sleep too soon and noticed that I felt much more awake in the mornings after the Effexor, however I couldn’t tolerate it’s other side effects…

Nausea and Luvox Answers

Thursday, September 25th, 2003

“Anthony,In teresting about the Luvox and keeping you on
all of your post ,but what did he say about your severe nausea? I
hope you start feeling better!”
Well I was given Luvox instead of Remeron because Remeron made me too
fatigued, and the Luvox was supposed to help take the edge off (Stop
Obsessive worrisome thinking about the future).
As for the combo, its not working well at all. Although I went to
bed and woke up today feeling fine, I originally thought I would be
Ok, and then I took my morning Lexapro and BOOM! the nausea sides
came out of the woodwork!
I was feeling extreme gas stomach pains (I have never felt them that
severe before) finally I took a Maalox and the gas pains slowed down
but the queezyiness came out stong. After which I felt drained and
depressed when that wore down. I felt like I basically ran a
marathon, which I really did since I wasted so much adreniline from
the morning episode, so I am feeling the blues of an “Anxiety
Hangover”.
I will go on the roller coaster ride tonight one more time and if
tommorrow is the same nightmare then my PDoc is going to get a call
after I come home from my therapist…
Its a shame because I am such a difficult case to tweak. As one of
my group members tells me,”I am the poster-child for reasons not to
take meds”. Oh well as sensitive as I am to meds I keep trying to
move forward and stay as positive as possible, and to any newbie out
there that’s reading this and saying “I definiately don’t want meds”
I say to them,” If you want anything bad enough you have to walk
through the bad times to get to the good” (Even if your bad times if
1.5-2 years like me) Even though times look grim, I not giving up…
