Muscle aches

I am wondering something….does anyone else here have muscle
cramping or just kind of an ache in the legs?? Kind of felt this a
week or so ago too but just checked back on some older posts and see
that someone else had this too. Is it the Lex? What did/do you do
for this? I take enough vitamins that I shouldn’t be lacking on
calcium. Any suggestions? Or is it just me?

Hey Shauna how was your Thanksgiving? Anyway I had the
cramps/adrenline in my legs big time last week but that was when I
stopped the Remeron and went on the Luvox.
I’ve had that side before Remeron with other SSRI’s but I don’t know
if I would have that with the Lex on its own since I’ve always taken
    the Lex with other meds.
I know that I’m probably not much of a help, but I just wanted to say
that you are not the only one to feel this. Let me ask you this how
are you feeling anxiety wise? And also is there any other part of
your body that you feel stiff especially in the neck or back by your
spine. If so my P-Doc says that for me at least its anxiety and not
    the Lex.
Anyways I hope you had a good holiday otherwise, mine was full of
Panic attacks and depresion, but that’s where a call is going into my
    P-Doc tommorrow…

Anthony, thanks for this post…did your p.doc tell you what would
help the stiff neck? I have this, too. I have gone to a chiropractor
and work out at the gym, but I still am stiff. Interesting what your
doctor said. I just thought I had a bad neck, from getting older…
didn’t relate it to the anxiety condition of mine.
    Did he suggest relaxation exercises?

    Hey Dagmar,
Unfortunately I can’t give you the answer you are looking for. Just
because its hard for me to troubleshoot this one myself. I can say
this, when I stopped the Remeron (basically cold turkey on a low
dose) and went of the Luvox, things went south in a bad way. I woke
up each morning with stiff legs full of adrenline. By the afternoon
my neck would be in so much pain that I would be EXTREMELY IRRITABLE
to anyone around me. When I got off the Luvox and went back on the
Remeron the problem went away. My problem is I don’t know if the
problem was caused by the Luvox (Which opened a big can of worms in
other areas mainly anxiety and depression). Or it could of been the
Remeron withdrawl, or it could have been the Lex without the Remeron,
or it could have been the anxiety (Which is what my p-doc told me
even though I don’t think in my case it was just that alone). or
finally which I think happened was ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!
I am writing this off as a chemical change mixed with anxiety for the
    muscle tension.
I don’t know how old you are Dagmar, but I’m only 27 and I really
should feel the aches and pains like this yet.
Wrapping it up I know this was a long winded reply, and I’m sure it
wasn’t much help, but its my honest answer. For now do the hot
shower thing and nag the F out of your P-Doc and regular doc for a
solution especially if you feel that this might be caused by anxiety
    or your meds.
PS. If your back is botherig you read my “Tennis Ball Post” later.

I’ve been on Lexapro now for about 5-6 weeks after being on Celexa for
about 4 years, and I’m noticing lots more anxiety and pre-menstrual tension
(sorry guys!) while taking Lexapro versus when I was on Celexa. I also
take Buspar, so I’ve temporarily upped my Buspar until January when I go
see my psych again for a meds check. The Lexapro definitely works as well
as Celexa when it comes to helping depression. I’m just really
disappointed about it not working for my anxiety.
What are others doing about the increased anxiety and tension?
    Thanks!

–Hi Christie, same here, I have noticed increased anxiety and
tension, but everything else is fine. Well, maybe, I don’t know how
well this is working for ocd. Haven’t figured that one out yet. Karen
Oh, I take xanax for anxiety. When its real bad, I eliminate
    caffeine.

That’s the way I felt when I was on welbutrin (Zyban) to quit
smoking .The first 3 days were not bad , but after that they tell you
to double the dose and the anxiety, tension , and insomnia were
terrible. After I quit taking the welbutrin it was another 2 or 3 days
before I felt like eating, and even longer before I could sleep. On the
other hand my brother in law LOVED the welbutrin , he quit smoking
and then stayed on it for a year.
I don’t think he is taking it anymore because he is back to smoking
again and back to being an A-hole.
I also had a bad experience with Elavil ,(Amitrypyaline) don’t know
if I spelled that right , but I had the increased anxiety plus heart
palpitations, with episodes of tachicardia. My Doc had put me on that
for nerve pain due to my neck injury from the car accident .
When I was finally prescribed an antidepressant for use AS an
antidepressant… I thought it would be a waste of time, but the
    Celexa worked wonders!!
When I was first put on celexa, my husband had already started his
course in another province so I didn’t know whether I was having the
sexual side effects from C or not .I found out that I WAS .
(Can you imagine not seeing your husband for 6 months and then, when I
got off the plane, the first thing I wanted to do was go get a coffee
    and donut!!
The Lexapro (for me)works as well as the Celexa, but I don’t have
that sexual side effect anymore .I still have weird dreams (but not
as frequent ) and the jaw clenching .
I am still amazed how these drugs can affect us so differently .
    Hugs
    Lesli

I’ve been taking Lexapro about 6 weeks now, and the muscle cramping is
gone. I did have them up until about 4 weeks on Lexapro. Maybe it’s just
    in the adjustment period.
