Here is something odd.
On my mom’s prozac bottle it says do not drink alcohol while on this
medication .
On mine it says …
“May cause drowsiness,Alcohol may intensify this effect,Use care when
operation a car or dangerous machinery”
They must mean intensify the drowsiness , since alcohol is a
depressant, you would think as Christy says, that it would lessen the
effect of the AD … like they cancel each other out ..Does anyone
else have warning labels on their prescription ? mine does not say
anything about taking it with food either.

The alcohol increases central nervous system depression (sedation) and it could intensify feelings of sleepiness and you could fall asleep while operating a car..I think thats why they put it there…. Suz

it: that alcohol will increase the drowsy effect.
Last night all it did was relax me. Relaxed me so much I was in bed
by 10:30pm and with no extra assistance slept until 9:30am this
morning. Best night’s sleep Ive had in a month….
