I am on neurontin (gabapentin) for nerve pain associated with a car
accident .I have seen people say it is also used as a mood
stablizer. The dosage was recently increased to 600mg /3 times a
day.from 300mg/3 times a day.
The Lexapro has not made me tired ,but since this increase in
neurontin I am really draggy. My short term memory is bad also. One of
the things I liked about lexapro was my short term memory was alot
better on lexapro than it had been on Celexa.
Does anyone know if the neurontin could be playing a part in that ?

I recently cut my does of Lex from 10 (1 pill) to 5 mg. I havce been on Lex
since October and i am just WAY too tired from it. Even more so than Celexa.
However, i once tried this with Celexa and after about 2 weeks, anxiety was
noticeably worse… so here’s hoping 5 will do.
So far, i feel better already on just 5…

I agree with the people that said if something is working weel best
not to tamper with it .Are you anorexic or bulemic or both ?Anorexia
is a sneaky disease .It could even be telling you to switch to lex
and maybe lose a few pounds .
I had anorexia and wish I could convince people that you can beat the
disease COMPLETELY, with no food hangups whatsoever .
Hang in there laura and welcome.

Hello:
My name is Rayne (say “rain”). I am 48, happily married for 11 years; mom
to 2: 10 & 28; grandmom to 3: 7, 4, & 1; & mom to 4 furbabies: 1 sheltie &
3 cats. I live in SW MO.
I am bipolar and have just started lexapro 10mg 4 days ago. Prior to that
I was on paxilCR for about 4 months - before that I was on regular paxil
for about a year. I am also on geodon 20mg 2x daily, and topamax 100mg 2x
daily. I’m on other meds, but they’re for other medical conditions.
I’m anxious to learn what I can expect from lexapro. How quick does it
kick in? What dosages are people using? I’ve been on celexa and it really
didn’t do much for me. Left me feeling not happy/not sad. What does it do
for/to your libido? (Or does anyone remember what that is, lol?) I’ve also
been on prozac, wellbutrin (regular & SR), effexorXR, & zoloft (which also
didn’t do anything for me). I was probably on some others, but I don’t
remember.
And is anyone else here bipolar?
hugs,
rayne

I come to this board every now and then, I have been taking Lexapro
10mg a day for three months now. It was prescribed to me for general
anxiety disorder. I moved to a new part of the country and a new job
last summer, and after I arrived I was always very nervous, irritable
couldn’t sleep, I didn’t want to do anything because I was always
preoccupied with my thoughts, you know always thinking about
everything. Well by last November I had enough and went to a psych
and got on Lexapro. The only other med he offered was Paxil, but I
have heard to many horror stories about that drug.
Lexapro has worked well, I didn’t worry excessively I slept normally,
I laughed and smiled, my attitude improved in general. The only side
effect I have experienced is that I have no sex drive now, but I
guess it shouldn’t matter since I am not involved with anybody. Well
about a week ago I began to feel on edge and nervous again,
especially before I begin my day, I think my thoughts of the upcoming
workday sometimes overwhelm me and I have to take deep breaths to
gather myself. I have also had to work 12 hour days lately, over 60
hours a week. That might be adding to it.
My body maybe building a tolerance to Lexapro, in other words it’s
losing its potency. I might have to go to a higher dosage to see the
effects of the drug return. I tried to call my doctor but he never
returned my call.
I have been through and through this cycle with other SSRI’s, such as
Zoloft and Prozac. What happens is over time my body becomes tolerant
to the medication and I have to take more and more to get the same
effect. Eventually I wind up taking such a high dose the side effects
become overwhelming and the medication becomes useless, and I quit
taking the drug. I don’t want to go through this again, but I dont’
want to quit treatment.
Has anyone else had this problem? I guess am frustrated in finding a
good, stable med for me. Zoloft and Prozac all worked very well for
me at first, but within 3 or 4 months it was like eating a placebo.
By the way I’ve been reading people’s accounts saying it took weeks
for the Lexapro to kick in. For me, I had felt results in 6 days!
Sounds like I have a very high metabloic rate and my body is breaking
it down quickly. Maybe I will go ahead and up it to 15 or 20mg
tonight.
WHOA! Metalobism! WHOA!
See ya.
Hey guys,
I need some help here. I have been back on Prozac for a month now.
Went to 20 mg from 5 mg of Lex. I am brain dead, cloudy head and
cannot remember anything, got that “push” feeling in my head all the
time now. I sleep good, that’s the only good thing.
I was on Celexa for about 4 months prior to switching to Lex. I
just could not afford the Lex anymore….NO coverage by the
insurance which meant $70+ each month. Can’t do it. Celexa,
however, is $30 a month. Prozac $60. Anyway, I am asking for some
ideas here.
I hate to keep switching meds. What’s your opinion on Celexa for
PMS and anxiety??

Just found a website for Clarocet NRI…www.clarocet.com that is
supposed to rival the SSRI’s in potency by using natural
ingredients. This is a natural reuptake inhibitor in lieu of manmade
SSRI’s. Has anyone used this? I am thinking of trying this instead
of the meds I am on now.
I would be interested in hearing your views on it and if you think
it would work, etc…..
Thanks.

I won’t go into all the details… but I WON!!!!
6 neighbors came with me plus my mom and animal control all testified
that my dogs are definitely NOT left outside barking and theve never
had a problem with my dogs .
During the trial i remember thinking . no matter if i win or lose,
the caring and support of my neighbors … of which 2 men had to take
the time off from work …. is worth it . hard to put into works but
i felt ….backed up and protected in a way .
the judge ,while giving his decision ,said ” ALL the evidence I see
befor me ,indicates that the defendant is a highly resposible dog
owner.
ill tel more later tired ,and need sone sleeep

Hi guys,
I got my bottle of Lex from the Pharmacy, and just because
I am such a worry wart, can someone please tell me what the
tablets look like? Mine are 10 mgs… I think I’ll start at 5 mgs
or maybe even half that… if somebody can describe the tabs
to me, I’d be really appreciative! I have never seen what they
are supposed to look like, and you know how there have been
lots of mess ups with the pharmacies giving out the wrong drug
and all. A couple of years ago in my neighboring town a woman
died because she was given the wrong med…
Thanks!!
Crystal
PS: You know what else, they didn’t put a side effect profile
on the info sheet that they give out, weird. They always have
that info. I guess I’ll give them a call, I like to see what s/e’s
they put down…
