hairloss

Wednesday, June 30th, 2004

No, the hairstylist even thinned my hair out a bit after cutting it last
month. She commented I had “a lot more” hair than the model in the pic I
took her to go by.

Feeling Better

Tuesday, June 29th, 2004

I switched to Lex from Celexa about a week ago. Most of the week I
felt muddle-headed and dizzy, headache too. Today I started feeling
more upbeat and wanting to get things done. Maybe that’s the first
sign the pills are working, wanting to put things in order. Things
just seem to make more sense now.

Dare I Say It!

Monday, June 28th, 2004

Hi All,
I think I may actually be feeling some positive effects from this
medication (finally). I think the change to 5 mg I made three days
ago has started to make a difference for me.
Today at work, I cleaned my desk thoroughly. You have to understand
that I’m a project manager for a software consulting company and am
required to keep track of a lot of information. I’m generally messy
but know what is going on. I usually reach a point after a couple of
weeks where the desk needs to be clean. This was the first time I’ve
done this “cleanup” since December. I think today was the first day
I really realized what a mess I’ve been.
Also, I spent the evening updating a website my husband and I created
for my daughter’s gym (she’s a level 9 gymnast). I discovered that I
was way behind there as well.
My whole outlook was brighter today.
I hope this is the start of a positive change for me.
Best Wishes to All,
Patience (Jackie)

New Member and new to Lexapro

Monday, June 28th, 2004

Hello,
I just joined tonight. Today my doctor perscribed Lexapro. I am
going thru menopause w/o meds because of a blood clot in Nov. I am
on Coumadin and have to be careful with everything I eat because of
this. I realize this question has probably been addressed earlier,
but I will ask anyway.
What negative side effects has anyone experienced with Lexapro?

So far no improvement. Is my dose too low?

Saturday, June 26th, 2004

Hi everyone,
I started taking 2.5 mg of Lexapro three weeks ago. I upped to 3.5
after my visit with my psychiatrist last Wednesday and he told me I
could go up to 5 mg when I felt ready. Well I’m not sure if I feel
ready… but I went up to 5 mg this morning.
My psychiatrist believes strongly in starting people out on a very
small dose of a medication so that they don’t freak out from the side
effects and quit before it has a chance to take effect.
My problem is that I’ve seen no good effects from this medication so
far and am getting discouraged so maybe his method could sometimes
backfire the other way? It is really hard to go through three weeks
of feeling lousy and not seeing any improvement along with the really
bad fear I have of taking medications of any kind.
I know many people have success on 5 mg and my psychiatrist thought
this would be the best final dose for me so I want to give the 5 mg a
chance to work. I’m just really discouraged right now.
Any support anyone could give would be greatly appreciated. Also,
I’m in the middle of tapering off Klonopin (it caused this depression
in me) and I don’t think that is helping.
Sorry to be a downer.

Thursday, June 24th, 2004

Hi all!
I have been on 10mg of lexapro for about 3 months now, I haven’t had
any major problems apart from some stomach pains at the start. The
only thing I have really noticed I bruise very easily. I always seem
to be black and blue even though I don’t remember hurting myself. Has
anbody else noticed this?
The only other thing is that my short term memory

Lex to Wellbutrin Switch

Thursday, June 24th, 2004

I have sucessfully switched from Lex to Wellbutrin for almost a week. I take 100
mg WB in the a.m. - and i seem to only need 1/2 a pill after that…a full pill
made me anxious and nauseous,etc.
I took Lex for anxiety. I am adjusting pretty good to the WB, still a bit
anxious now and then but getting better i think.
AND… my mood is MUCH improved and my libido is through the roof!
So far, so good…

Sexual side effects

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2004

I have in the past had trouble with medications and their negative
sexual side effects, so far my experience with lexapro has been much
better, I was wondering if it does have any sexaul side effects that
I am not yet experiencing.
