Wellbutrin & Lexapro
Wednesday, June 23rd, 2004Hi,
I’ve tried Wellbutrin twice, once last year and it didn’t work but I
was taking it in combination with Celexa. This year I wanted to
give it one more try as it is known to help people with ADD as well
as helping with depression. I tapered off the Celexa and went on
Wellbutrin alone, but after a couple weeks I didn’t feel right. I
was having depressing thoughts, so the doctor said to try doubling
the dose. First I tried taking two in the morning and one later in
the day. When that didn’t help, he had me try two in the morning
and two later in the day. When the depressing thoughts continued, I
tapered off and am now trying Lexapro.
One thing I didn’t like about Wellbutrin is having to remember to
take it twice a day.
The first two weeks on Lexapro I didn’t feel that improved on 10 mg.
a day. Now I am taking 15 mgs (it’s been about a week now) and my
husband has mentioned an improvement in me. I do notice that I seem
to have a bit more “initiative” now. I hope this continues!
Peace & blessings to you all,
Alice
