Effexor To Lexapro!!!

Friday, July 30th, 2004

Hi.
I am a newbie to this club. I am transfering over from the Effexor
groups because I am tapering off effexor starting today. I am going
to switch over to Lexapro in several weeks and need advice from
anyone that has made the Effexor/Lexaro switch. The reason I am
coming off Effexer after a year is because I was a recovering
alcoholic and the Effexor was making me drink like a mad man. I mean
I was drinking everday and not getting hangovers. When I took
Serzone for 5 years i had drinks ocasionally, but not 12 pack a day
on Effexor. I am hoping that the Lexapro will be alot different than
the Effexor was. Any advice would be great.
Thanks alot.

switch from celexa for about 2 weeks now and …

Thursday, July 29th, 2004

I recently switched from 40mg of celexa to 20mg of lexapro about 2
weeks ago and I have noticed the following;
1. I seem to be more anxious and obsessive
2. I seem to be slightly depressed
On celexa I was doing pretty well in these areas. Does it take longer
than 2 weeks to kick in? Can anyone relate.

Lexapro and Depakote

Thursday, July 29th, 2004

Does anyone take Lex and Depakote combination?
I’m on Lex 20mg, and it helps with depression and anxiety.
I’m not Bipolar, but my psych thinks Depakote will help
control my migranes.
Any comments?

I just started Lexapro 3 weeks ago….

Hi,
I am a new member. I started 10 mgs of Lexapro three weeks ago
becuase I had severe anxiety and insomnia. My doctor suggested
Ambian for the sleeplessness but only for 10 days (as it is not a
long term drug). It helped me sleep but I felt ‘drugged’ the next
day. I am not taking it anymore. But I do wake up a few times a
night but fall back to sleep fairly easy. I just wish I could get a
full 7 hrs sleep!! Could this be from the Lexapro? I feel that it
has helped my anxiety. I also have heartburn at night.
I was on Paxil about 2 years ago but weaned myself off (after one
year). I did not like the side effects of Paxil.
Any feed-back would be appreciated…thanx!

Lexapro 10 mg tab question.

Tuesday, July 27th, 2004

Does the 10 mg tab of lexapro have a line so you can break it in half
to take a 5 mg dose? If not, do they make 5 mg tabs?

tolerance to lex?

Tuesday, July 27th, 2004

Hey guys
question
ive been on lex for about 5 months.
it is by far the BEsT AD ive ever been on .
I have absolutely NO side effects but the problem is that I keep
having to increase my dose.
I am up to 35 mgs now ..
Because I live in canada and my pdoc doesnt know that much about
lex.. (i get the med through a gp friend of mine in the states and
the pdoc knows about it)…
well.. needless to say we are both stumped about the tolerance..
My question to all of you is … has anyone gone over 30 mgs and
eventually found a dose that works long term.. OR does this mean I
cant continue taking this med.
My doc is thinking of moving me to effexor which I have not tried and
really dont want to..
I would appreciate any advice greatly
Mark

Lexapro dose vs. Celexa.

Monday, July 26th, 2004

I see the dose of Lexapro is smaller than Celexa. Is this because
it’s concentrated? Would 10 mg of Lexapro be the same as 20 mg on
Celexa?

I had a Dr. give me Klonapin and Zoloft about seven yrs. ago. Can’t
remember if it was together, probably not.
I’ve heard Klonopin is addictive. Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac had to
go in Betty Ford to get off it.
I think Zoloft is pretty good, but it’s been years.
