I’m thinking of going back to Celexa. Anyone else?

Before Lexapro was invented, I was on 160 mg daily of Celexa. This is an
extremely high dose that only doctors in Europe recommend. So, for the first
    time
in my life, I had a seizure when I was in a Wal-Mart. When I later went to a
neurologist, he said I had an underlying predisposition to have seizures, and
he was amazed that in my 40 years I had never had a seizure. He had me go on an
anti-seizure medication in a low dosage, and all seemed fine, so he took me
off of it and then I had another seizure. Since then, I’ve been on Depakote, an
anti-seizure medication. I’m also on Lexapro, 30 mg per day.

Hi. I have been on Celexa (20mg) for about 4 month now and have
found it to be a great help. My doctor prescribed it when she asked
me how I was doing on our first visit for a physical and I burst into
tears. I always had mood swings but some real life stresses have
occured in this last year, not to mention peri-menopause and self
medication with alcohol that just made it increasingly difficult to
cope. I know 20mg is a low dosage and have been considering going up
as if the 20mg made such an improvement, what can more do. I don’t
feel drugged. Had a week of nausea and tiredness at first but that
went away. So I guess I’m wondering what is wrong with it if this
site was formed becuase of problems with Celexa? Thanks in advance.

New here. New to antidepressants all together. Doc prescribed 20mg
    daily.
Been reading online stuff…worried about weight gain and sexual side
    effects…
Any advice from someone on it…what’s been true for you?

I think the older sister of Lex is available in generic now. It sure
    would cost alot less.
    Anyone tried the generic?
