hi Im a new member

Sunday, July 25th, 2004

i just moved to chicago and got a new doc as well. i have been on
benzo’s for about 4 years xanex for 2 and klonopin for 2. My doctor
wants me off klonopin. I have severe anxitey, deppression as well as
other syptons. I have tried zoloft, zyprexel, paxil, effxior celexi
(sp’s)…you name it without any sucsess. the only drug class that
seems to work for me is the benzo’s. Anyhow, my new doctor wants me
off the klonopin and give the lexapro a shot so Im going to try it.
Im still currently taking klonopin as well as the lexapro now and he
hopes within about 8 weeks to be off the klonopin so I was just
wondering if anyone else out there is in the same shoes as mine
because I am very nervous. Also is anyone in this group in
chicago??? well thats it for now, hope to hear from some of you.
thanx Keith

Tiredness

Sunday, July 25th, 2004

FOR WOMEN:
I was one Celexa for about a year. About 3 months ago, my neuro put
me on Lexapro. I really feel that it has been making me more tired.
As far as the sex thing goes, it has been better. I have probably
gained a little weight, I am now at 120, was at 110. So thats not
too bad. But I really don’t want to be tired either. I have MS and
am taking Provigil to help with fatigue and it does help. I think he
changed me because he thought it would help my sex drive. Is is my
imagination or am I more tired on Lexapro? I am new to this group.
Thanks for your help.

Definitely true that if Lex hasn’t worked for y ou by six months that it
will not work for you! My psy usually gives me 7-10 days on a new med to
determine whether it’s working.
Good luck with your new psy. It’s always hard to switch drs. or therapists
(or spouses or houses or….)….
Karen with a silly sense of humor
I can tell whether meds are working by whether I see humor or not.
(too much) then 15 (only for a week). I called the Lab and they said if it
did not work by now it won’t. Have an appointment with a new psy the 27th
of June. Please send your support to me on this. I really think I need a
good cry but haven’t been able to even do that. And laugh HA HA!!!!

reaction to Lexapro

Saturday, July 24th, 2004

I”ve been on this Lexapro almost 3 months. First I was on 10 mg/day
Xanax 2 mg 3xday, and Restoril 30 mg 1 or 2 for sleep. The effects,
on me, have been so gradual and “natural”, that I only realized that I
never need to take the Restoril to sleep anymore and that I am taking
1/2 or 1 mg of Xanax usually 2xday. I am able to cope with my chronic
illnesses, financial difficulties, and traumatic episodes regarding an ill
family member ( 4 living relatives ). Today is the first
time in 15 years that I have been able to deal with this situation without
falling apart emotionally drained. I really believe that it is the chemical
effect of the Lexapro as it is the ONLY difference in
this situation from the last time(s).

To all the girls out there, anyone gone from celexa to lexapro?

Saturday, July 24th, 2004

Hey everyone,
I have a question for the girls out there. Has anyone gone from
celexa to lexapro? If so, while taking celexa did you experience
sexual side effects? After switching to lexapro did still experience
those side effects? Did they get better? worse?
I was on celexa for about six months and couldn’t handle not being
able to have an orgasm, so my doc switched me to wellbutrin. The
wellbutrin has been working fine, been taking it about a year, but
I’m supposed to take it twice a day and I kept forgeting to take the
afternoon dose. Even on the one dose of wellbutrin I felt pretty
good so I stopped taking it all together. It’s been about 2 months
now and I’ve noticed some symptoms coming back, like crying very
easily, anxiety, restlessness but not wanting to do anything, so my
doc gave me a six week supply of lexapro. I’m really worried about
the sexual side effects coming back. I’m just looking for a little
input from anyone in a similar situation.
Thanks everyone, Johnell.

Lexapro/Restoril

Friday, July 23rd, 2004

Has anyone had these 2 together? It usually seems like Restoril doesn’t
do much for me. Of course, I’m on Lexapro.
I still almost think I preferred Celexa. Has anyone felt hungrier on
one vs. the other?

i think it’s kicking in now

Thursday, July 22nd, 2004

I think the Lexapro kicked in yesterday; I felt a real nice buzz all
day, positive outlook on life, good general overall feeling.
Today, the buzz is not as strong as yesterday.
Is the nice buzz supposed to last as long as I’m on Lexapro, or does
it wear off in a few days?
thanks

joint pain?

Monday, July 19th, 2004

Anyone that has been on Lex for awhile have joint pain? My fingers
are really aching and it just seems to be getting worse and worse.
Now l’m not ruling out the possibility that it’s arthritis but
there’s no swelling involved. But about a month after I was off of
Paxil I experienced the same thing for a few weeks and it went
away. I was thinking at that time that it was one of the many
withdrawel symptoms I experienced. So I’m kinda wondering if this
could be contributed to the Lex. I’ve been on it since the
beginning, 9 mths now, and I’m going to the doc tomorrow and will
find out what they may think it is.
