Hi all. New to the group. On Day 7 of taking 2.5 of Lexapro. No significant
changes, yet…. but this article does worry me.
Thoughts?

This IS worrisome, isn’t it. I tell ya, we’re all guinea pigs. All the MORE
reason to be IN therapy, so another set of eyes sees you regularly. That
aside, I think “studies” have shown that it is the combination of
antidepressants and therapy that is most effective in treating depression.
I began therapy first, got some benefit, but resisted meds for months and
months–frankly, due to articles like this latest from the NY Times. Finally
gave in and got meds, and the results were fantastic. My mood lifted and
lightened, and then I was able to apply the therapy. I needed therapy AND
meds. Therapy helped to straighten out decades-long patterns of behavior and
thinking that had not served me well, to say the least.
