yeah what in the heck is cymbalta ? Sounds like an herb. alison ps glad
you feel better barbara . makes me smile.
Cymbalta is a brand new anti-depressant combing both the SSRI component and
the dopamine component. I personally don’t know anyone who has used this drug
before, so I’m not sure what people are saying about it yet. But it’s
definitely NOT an herb, I promise you!

Considering weaning off Lexapro

Thursday, February 16th, 2006

I am thinking about getting off the med. I have been taking 10 mg
since July (8 months) for anxiety. I am no longer at the job that
was stressing me out … and I have put on weight that seems
impervious to diet and exercise! So … does anyone have experience
with the weaning off process that they can share with me? I would
appreciate it!

Time to get off Lexapro?

Thursday, February 16th, 2006

I’m down to .25 mg of Lex every other day now for a few weeks. I’m
feeling okay. Do you think it will be okay for me to just quit now,
or do you think there would be many side effects at this low dose?

Feeling better!

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

I’ve been on Effexor for several weeks now and I’m up to 75mg from a
starting dose of 37.5.
I can’t believe how good I feel. I realized yesterday that the phobic
thoughts are gone!! As well as the cloud of “why bother, I’m going to die
anyway so what’s the point?”. For the first time since the summer of 2001 I
feel happy! And I feel hopeful and optimistic. I’d forgotten what that feels
that.
And no cloudiness from the drug. No head fog. It’s wonderful. I wish I had
known then, when I was taking Celexa, what I know now. What a huge
difference.

RE Trazodone

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

Hi Joan. I was taking Trazodone along with Prozac for a few years. I
slept like a rock while on the Trazodone, just had some weird dreams.

Some insite please!

Wednesday, February 15th, 2006

I’ve been on 20mg of lexapro since November 2004.
Recently I stopped taking it on my own. My dr told me that I cant
take it during the last few months of pregnancy and while
breastfeeding. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant,
so when it happens I dont want to try and wean myself off of it
while pregnant.
Well, its been 2 weeks since I stopped taking it, and just within
the past few days I’ve been so stressed with things going on…I’ve
been snapping at everyone, crying over everything and tense. So
finally last night I took one, and decided to go back on it.
I dont want to be on it anymore, I dont want to be depended on it.
Any insite on how to get off it and not go crazy in the process????
Thanks,
Alexis

New Here!

Monday, February 13th, 2006

Hi!
I just started taking 10 mg Lexapro today. I was on Effexor for
like a week but I couldn’t handle the side effects (insomnia, crazy
dreams). I have taken Celexa in the past and it worked pretty well
for me, but I gained 30 pounds in less than 6 months on it.
My question is, has anyone out there taken Celexa and Lexapro and
have you noticed similar side effects? I told my doctor about my
weight gain on Celexa and he didn’t seemed concerned at all. He just
told me when I started taking the Effexor to make sure I was
exercising. Then today when he prescribed me the Lexapro, he just
brushed it off all together. My weight is one of the reasons I am
depressed and I am wondering if I should try a different doctor. I
know most Antidepressants affect people differently but I was
wondering if Lexapro is well known for weight gain and if it is,
does anyone have any suggestions to an alternate drug?
Thanks,
Amy
