new/had reaction to drug
hello.. i just joined this group to gain more information. ..
yesterday, the doc prescribed lexapro to me b/c celexa has stopped
being effective for me.. i am diagnosed with GAD and OCD…. im sure
most of u in this group can relate…. last nite was the first nite i
took the lexapro… prescrip.. 30ml.. i took it around 6:30 pm and by
7:15 was projectile vomiting which lasted for over 2hrs.. ended up at
the emergency room.. my question is this…has anyone experienced
this??? the doctors at the emergency room were of absolutely no
help… the doc basicaly told me he had never heard of the drug and
then drilled me on what it was for.. only to have me pass out on
him… then ended up telling my hubby that i did not have any reaction
to the drug..and he had no clue to what was causing me to have the
symptoms…. anywho…. i ended up called the psych this morn..he told
me to take half and to call him on monday… im worried ….??? any
help???

Hi! Sorry you went through that and that no one helped you.
My thought is
that you were started off on way, way too much. My understanding is the
‘normal’ dosage is between 10-20 mg. 30 is rare and is definitely way too
much too start off on. I’d find another Dr.
What do others here think?
