I’m so happy to say that lexapro seems to be working for me so far! I’m
surprised that I’m noticing a difference so soon! I’ve only had 4 doses! The
first day I was just exhausted but now I’m just a little tired. I don’t feel
like it’s interfering with getting things done. I’m starting to feel much more
patient with my kids and my OCD seems to be less and less. My face felt a little
numb for the first two days but that’s gone away too. I’m just so glad that
after procrastinating the way I did that this is working out so well! :0)

This is on behalf of my husband, who started taking
10mg 18 days ago. After a couple of days, he noticed
some effect (as did I in the way he was acting), but
now he says he doesn’t notice anything (and from my
perspective he seems to have gone back to the way he
was before.) He also says he’s not experiencing any
side effects except perhaps some daytime sleepiness.
At the 10mg level, I’ve certainly experienced more
side effects, but I’m also feeling better. I’m
wondering if the fact Jim’s a big guy could mean he
needs a higher level to achieve the same effect. Or
it could just be he has more to overcome right now as
he’s going through a job search after being laid off
after 27 years.
Has anyone else had their dosage upped to 20mg, and if
so, how did it work?

I am on 10 mg of lexapro which I take at night and I’ve been on it for about
4 years, and I’m on wellbutrin that I take in the morning. I am thinking
about not taking the lexapro any more just to see what happens. If I stop cold
turkey, what are the problems I could face, other than getting depressed?
I’ve gained about 10 pounds that I CANNOT get rid of no matter what I try, and
I heard that lexapro may cause weight gain. If getting off of lexapro will
cause physical problems, what can I expect. For example, 1st day you will
feel light headed, second day you will yack all day in the toilet, etc…….I
just want to know what to expect. thanks, lonnie

I did get the script for Lexapro and I am a little happy about it, yet
nervious. (Thats Bob for responding to my earlier post!!)
Can anyone tell me if its best to take it in the morning or at night?
Did it effect anyones sleep or does it make you sleepy??

My name is Faith and have been on Effexor xr for about 5 years now,
different doses off and on……….I am currently on 300 mg a day.
Because problems have cropped up I am switching to Lexapro. I am
wondering if anyone has switched like I am and what the outcome has
been. I am concerned that I am just supposed to stop the effexor and
take the lexapro, and I wonder when the effexor will be out of my
system and the lexapro will start taking effect. I am on my 5th day of
no effexor, but have been taking the lexapro(20mg.). I thank you for
having me in your group and look forward to meeting you…….

I have a doctor’s appt today and I have decided to tell him I want to
try Lexapro. I have been on Welbutrin for 3 months now and it hasn’t
done a thing for me.
I was on Zoloft for 4 years and got off it a year ago. I gainned a
ton of weight on it and I started getting depessed because of that.
Those are the only 2 meds I’ve been on. I suffer from depression and
a mild dose of panick attacks and I have been extremely bitchy and on
edge from the Welbutrin. I snap at my kids and husband about
anything.
I definately need to be on something. I just don’t know what or what
will do the trick. I sat here and read up on some different meds and
this seems to be the only one I feel ok about trying.
My feelings that I have been going trough are, well, I have been sad
and life seems so bleak. Nothing makes me happy and I just seem to
feel empty and alone. I feel helpless and scared at times like I
don’t care if I die. I am not saying I want to kill myself. I just
don’t care about things. If I didn’t have kids and was like this, I
have no idea if I would still be alive. I am all my kids have/they
are all I have. MY youngest started pre K this year. He goes for 2
1/2 hours a day and I don’t even want to come back to the house to be
here alone while they are all in school. I feel panicky to be
alone. I dropped him off yesterday and was just driving around and I
started feeling that same panick feeling. So I drove to a store to
look around and side track my mind. I have no idea what is wrong
with me. Can anyone relate to what I am saying? Do you thing
Lexapro is something that can help me?????? I’m so confused.
