All about Lexapro

I did well on it for a while but now Iam having bad depression.I was
seen today and will probably be cnanged.

i was taking lexapro for six months and complained to my doc about
sleepiness all the time. he switched me to effexor….any comments or
experience between the two? gracias….

Robert here. Just thought Id write and say how Lexapro was largely
useless for me. But I am stoked now because the new AD Im on, Effexor,
is doing so much for me I would never have expected it.
For the first time in my life I can cope without smoking that chemical
hydro pot I usually get. It had such a terrific hold on me.
I still need pot but I can now get away with smoking anything.
I dont get depression or anxiety anymore. I feel so much better. The
old Rob is dead.
Admittedly, since I started smoking the strong stuff again it has been
effecting the effectiveness of the A.D. I am on an increased dose but
I think Im going to need more.
Oh yeah good news. Ive started my course. The old suicidal Rob is far
gone.

When exactly does the libido come back, if ever? Also, why the cruel
joke of drowsiness in the day and when you finally get to bed, you are
wide awake? I would love veteran Lexapro users thoughts…

Hi everyone, I have been on Lexapro 20mg. for a long time, but I’m
dealing with alot of stress and pain, so I’m having some bad depression
days. My Dr. suggested Cymbalta, but I was hesitant.
I’ve heard alot of negatives about Cymbalta, so I’m a bit scared.
I don’t seem to have any side effects from lexapro, so I’m thinking I
should try 30mg. of Lexapro before trying the Cymbalta.
The literature on the Lexapro states 20mg. is the highest dose, but
from I’ve read here, some people feel better on a higher dose of Lexapro
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated,

Hi everyone,
I take Lexapro 20mg and Wellbutrin 300mg. I am still sleepy and the
sex drive isn’t back. As far as weight gain, it has stopped, however
I am not losing any either. I have been at these doses for 1 month
now, so I still could get some results. Taking my Lexapro at about 6
pm has helped a lot with the daytime drowsiness. I have had a bit of
insomnia lately, most likely from the Wellbutrin. Good luck to all of
us…I hope we all find that combo that works.

Hi guys, I wanted to thank you for your responses. I got so wired yesterday I
was afraid I would crash and crash hard. So, I called my friend up and went over
to see her. I smoked a joint with her and then she gave me a joint to smoke at
bedtime. Well, between the 2, I slept thru the night last night. I woke up
this morning feeling rested and calm. I’m not proud of the fact that I caved in
but I felt like I needed to avert a potential crash. I take both my Lex. and
Wellbutrin in the morning so I don’t think that’s what is keeping me awake. I do
need to not drink coffee in the afternoon, at least until I return to a more
normal sleeping pattern. I guess I was afraid of being judged for smoking pot so
I held off saying anything about it here. I’ve only told a couple of people that
I am going thru this. My doc has been very supportive and acknowledges the
difficulty and the courage I have to do this. I’m also a recovering alcoholic
and I swear this is much more
difficult than quitting alcohol. Thanks for your support and encouragement. Sue

My doc added Wellbutrin to my list of psych meds I started it on thursday.
I’ve been a pot smoker for the past 12 years and have decided to quit. I’ve been
going cold turkey and I’ve had honest to goodness withdrawal from it. My doc
says it’s the combination of the meds I’m on and the THC that is causing the
withdrawal. I’ve been feeling hung over, have been perspiring very heavily,
anxiety and worsening depression. I’m also unable to sleep. I have gone for a
week without sleep and I’m about out of my mind. I know some of you said you
were also on Wellbutrin. What has been your experience with sleeping and
Wellbutrin ? The patient information sheet I got with the medication said it
can cause sleeplessness. I think the sleeplessness is from the withdrawal. I’m
having a really hard time doing this but I am chosing to do this so I know I
will get thru it. If any one has anything they’d like to share about theiri
experiences with any of the above, I’d appreciate

TODAY SUCKS! I WENT TO MY DOCTOR TO GET MY PRESCRIPTION REFILLED OF
LEXAPRO AND I WAS TALKING TO HIM ABOUT SOME OF THE SIDE AFFECTS IVE
BEEN HAVING WEIGHT GAIN, HOT FLASHES, SHAKY AND HE SAID THAT I NEED TO
STOP TAKING IT. AND TO START WEANING OFF OF IT! AHHH. I STARTED CRYING
IN HIS OFFICE. IM SO AFRAID THAT IM GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER ANXIETY
ATTACK AND PASS OUT AGAIN IM NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. HE SAID THAT AFTER 2
YEARS ITS TIME TO GO WITHOUT THE MEDS. HAS ANYONE ELSE HERE HAD TO DO
THIS? I HATE THE “ELECTRIC SHOCK” FEELINGS THAT I GET WHEN I FORGET TO
TAKE IT FOR A FEW DAY.
