Anyone feel that when they first started Lexapro they felt worse
before they felt better?
Thank you,
David.

I have been on Lexapro for 2 weeks now, and I feel worse than I have ever
felt before. I am suddenly having anxiety (I’ve never had anxiety before),
insomnia (I take my meds in the evening), and really strange appetite
patters. Sometimes I’m starving, other times I could go all day without
eating. I have not felt better yet. I am thinking of asking my Dr. to switch
me to Paxil. I’ve taken Paxil several times in my life, and it has always
worked well. And I’ve never had side effects like this.
I think I may give the Lexapro another week, two at the most.
David, What kind of “worse” things are you feeling?

Hi David, I didn’t feel worse. Lexapro started working gradually and
it took about 4 wks to totally click in. I sleep too much, but as I
am retired it doesn’t matter. I used to wake up every morning at 3am
or 4. Now I could probably sleep until 11 am if I wanted to. I
first took Zoloft and loved it, it started working 2 days after I
took the first pill. However after 6 months it stopped working and
that’s when I started on Lexapro. the Dr. says I can stop the
Lexapro, but I’m still taking it. Barb from Calif
