Bad experience with Lexapro

I recently was prescribed Lexapro due to moderate depression and GAD.
Once I started taking the medication, the following day I felt like I
was on speed. My ears were popping, my head felt a tingling feeling,
and I was dizzy all day. I tried to keep taking the medication since
my doctor told me the side effects normally subside after a few weeks,
but I was only able to continue the medication for about 4 more days.
What confused me is the fact that my doctor told me I wouldn’t even
be able to feel any changes until about 2 weeks after starting the
meds. I felt the horrible side effects hours after taking the meds.
Even after not taking the meds for 48 hours, I still feel weird. I
have tried other SSRI’s like Zoloft and had the same side effects so I
guess my body just doesn’t like the SSRI family of meds. I somewhat
feel hopeless now since this drug and others didn’t work for me. Has
anyone else experienced this type of reaction to this med?

I started breaking the 10mg pills in half where they are etched so I
started at 5mg. These side effects occured at 5mg once per day. I
wish I could say this drug worked for me like everyone else in this
list serve. But for now, I guess its back to the old psych doc for me.
